Congratulations Brett Calhoun and Jacob Worsley in State Wrestling Tounament!

Union sends 4 wrestlers to the state wrestling tournament and brings home 2 medals.
Union Christian Academy wrestler brings home Unions first State title in wrestling Saturday, February 11th.

Sophomore, Brett Calhoun
wins the 1A-5A state title at 182lbs over Dalton Jacobs of Berryville by decision. Brett also wins 1A-5A, Outstanding wrestler of the tournament 182lbs to 285lbs. This award is voted on by attending coaches for performance, character and academics. Brett finished the year with a 15-2 record. He will wrestle the 182 lbs. champion from the large schools at the Tournament of Champions in Russellville on Saturday, Feb. 25th.

Junior, Jacob Worseley of Union Christian also obtains All State honors as he earns 3rd place 132lbs 1A-5A at the state tournament as well winning 4 straight matches in a row on the consolation side of the bracket to earn his medal. Jacob finishes the year with a 11-5 record.

UNION WRESTLERS SOAR AT FEBRUARY 2010 STATE COMPETITION!
Union Christian had two wrestlers place in the
Arkansas State High School Wrestling Championships!
Calvin Gammon made it to the Medal rounds and ended with a 4th place finish
in Division 1A-5A at the 189 lb weight class. Calvin ended the season at 17-4.
Calvin's leadership and faith has been a great asset to the wrestling program.
Congratulations to Calvin Gammon for an excellent Senior wrestling season.
Brett Calhoun finished 3rd and earned All State honors in Division
1A-5A at the 171lb weight class. Brett ended the season at 18-4 and
impressed everyone with his success at the tournament as a freshman.
Brett competed in the 14/15 year old Div. 5, 171lb weight division in the
Arkansas Youth State Tournament in arch and finished 2nd with a 4-1 record.
Brett also competed in the Brute Addidas Nationals in April.
Jake Worseley ended his season with a 10-9 record and earned a win in the
High School State Tournament. He also competed in the Youth State.
Jack Bieker ended his season with a record of 10-6. Jack fought through
a pulled muscle at the tournament, doing his best to compete.
Jack competed in the Youth State Tournament as well too.
Evan Gardner ended his season with a 7-6 record and racked over 50 wins
in his High School career. Evan earned his team six points in the
State tournament. Evan is a three-time State Placer. He has been a humble
example to everyone his entire High School wrestling career.
Mason Malone, Saxton Scott, and Tristan Hubbard
worked hard to improve their skills this season.
Union looks forward to their contributions next year.
