Quiz Bowl 2011

Quiz Bowl Wins District and Places in Top 8 in State Championship
The high school Quiz Bowl team earned 2A first place at the Arkansas Governor's
Quiz Bowl District Competition, winning every game.

Consisting of sophomores, juniors, and one senior, the District competitors won without the aid of several senior compatriots, who were attending the senior mission trip in Chicago. Team members participating in competition include the following: Seniors Sarah Cate, John David Hubbs, Roger Harrison,and Coy Wineland; Juniors Daniel Calvery, Clark Coulbourn, Evan Gentry, Colton Smith, and Ram Smith; and Sophomores Joni Fields-Adams, Chad Kupers, and Jade Stenger. Mrs. Cathy Smith is the team coach; Mrs. Becky Birch is an official quiz bowl judge; and Jessica Smith is the team scorekeeper. Special thanks goes to Matt Callaway, who served as scorekeeper at District Competition.

Union made it to the quarter finals and ended state competition
in the top 8 of 18 schools competing at the 2A State Tournament!
