Accreditation
Union Christian Academy is accredited by ANSAA (Arkansas Nonpublic School Accrediting Association), ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), and NCA (North Central Association). Accreditation status is reviewed on a periodic basis; therefore, Union Christian maintains continuous self-study and improvement mechanisms. History
Since the early 1990’s, it has been the desire of many involved in Fort Smith’s Christian educational community to unify under one school system for the benefit of all. In 2004, God led three of Fort Smith’s Christian schools to work toward that goal. Sensing the purpose of the Lord and seeking to be obedient to His will, Harvest Time Christian School, Fort Smith Christian School and River Valley Christian School agreed to join. As a result, Union Christian Academy first opened its halls for the 2005-2006 school year and began a new work in Christian education serving the region located within the Arkansas River Valley at the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Mission
Union Christian Academy is a co-educational, interdenominational Christian school committed to educational excellence for students from pre-school through the twelfth grade. The school seeks to develop the total child, with an emphasis on high character standards and moral values which enable its students to become mature and responsible young adults who are equipped to shape the future for Jesus Christ.
Philosophy
The educational philosophy of Union Christian Academy is based on a God-centered view that God is the source of all truth and that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible authoritative Word of God which contains this truth. God created all things and sustains all things. We acknowledge and affirm that every person has been created in the image of God with a unique identity. Within this person exists individual strengths and weaknesses, capabilities, and limitations. By grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the individual enters that relationship with God whereby he is nurtured and matured. Thus, Union wants every person in our school to grow as an individual: acknowledging, appreciating, and using the identity which God has given in following the course which God has established.
Therefore, Union Christian Academy is a Christian school dedicated to the development of moral character, the enrichment of spiritual lives, and the perpetuation of growth in Christian ideals. Through its curriculum, Union challenges students to attain academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual excellence to the glory of God. This philosophy guides our endeavors to promote high academic standards while helping students to achieve skill in creative and critical thinking using an integrated curriculum across all subject areas – preparing them to be knowledgeable Christian participants in our nation and the world.
Purpose
The school's purpose is to assist the home and church in building a solid foundation in the life of each
